Why are you here?
I am here because I believe that Microfinance can change lives. I am in a project called Projeto Tombo (www.twitter.com/projetotombo ; www.projetotombo.org) and for my hapiness I could do some Microcredit´s works with people who really need to improve their lifestyle and their management skills to live with dignity. Microcredit means a new life.
What are you currently working on?
I´m working on a project that encorporates studies about Microcredit, Sustentability, Ethics and Education. Our university gave us this opportunity to work on our perceptions about what people (in our case, people who are studying Economics and Administration) should know and than care about different people´s lives and environment´s needs.

Eduardo Ferreira - Banco Unibanco

Yesterday we had a lecture in our University with Eduardo Ferreira about the Microcredit that Banco Unibanco works with.
It was amazing. Lot´s of people could change their lives and upgrade (people who are not anymore microcredit´s customer and have grown).

I´m so happy that what our Projeto Tombo is doing can make a small diference in the hole world, but a big difference for the person. And that is the most important thing: win the small and then win the big.

Waiting for Godot - today at my University

Today, at 18h30, fortunately we´ll have a big dance presentation about "Waiting for Godot". This is one more thing that our Project Tombo prepared for the students.

This show will make them think about what they are waiting for... And realise them that SOMETHING must be done. Small actions can make big differences. Let´s think about LIFE.

Bonsai People
"Sometimes I describe poor people as the bonsai tree. If you take the seed of tallest tree in the forest and put it in a flower pot, it grows only as big as the pot will let it. There's nothing wrong with the seed; simply we plant it in the wrong place. The poor people are bonsai people. There's nothing wrong with their seed. Simply society never allowed them the space to grow." - Dr. Muhammad Yunus

Thais, all your work sounds awesome, and your English is really impressive! Judging from the fact that I thought the Project Tombo website was in Spanish, you can probably guess how bad my Portuguese is, haha.

Would you want to blog about the microfinance pilot project that you're working on? It would be really cool to share what you've learned and for others to read a first-hand account.

I hope this site provides useful information for you!

Hey Thais,

Projeto Tombo looks really awesome. How are you involved with it? I'll be honest, my Spanish isn't really that great, but I got the sense that Tombo incorporates art and music, right? Do you use these to support microfinance as well?

Anyway, hope you enjoy the site. Please feel free to send any feedback or suggestions.

Best,
Haley
