Good to see the UPenn group represented here! When we began working on this site, we were in contact with Cecelia Vogel. Were you in the microfinance club with her? What kind of activity do you guys have planned on campus this semester?
haha, that's awesome that you've been working with Cecelia for so long - get her on the site! She was so helpful when we spoke with her when this idea was first coming together.
I created this site with a few others, and we're actually all spread out across the country/world - California, Colorado, Texas, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Scotland. haha, it sounds crazy, but we've all been able to work really well together and are still interested in making the site more cohesive and useful. Definitely send feedback if you have any!
What kinds of small events do you have planned? I'd love if you could blog a little about them as they happen/post pictures. We're really trying to build content and inspire other university clubs.
You might also want to check out our campaigns page. We're working to make it look more inspiring, but the initiatives we have listed there are actually really awesome programs/ways for the youth to help! I would especially check out Sean Foote's simulcast class, which is listed on the homepage. It's a really cool class and a good way to bring some academic legitimacy to your club. Also, I am just about to post a new campaign called Bands For Borrowers which is a concert campaign to raise funds for Grameen America. You guys could hold a concert, haha!
Anyway, I am excited that you guys are so active. Hope you're enjoying these last few days of summer.
Hola Tigre!

Also, is there no way to categorize threads within a discussion group? I know of other online forums that can do that (my school's specifically). That would help a lot, as far as keeping track of the different themes people are exploring...

Clearly, the problem is the lack of lenders who will charge "fair" rates for the lending of capital temporarily and/or pay her the true value of her product. What I find difficult about this question is deciding what are fair lending rates and produ…
