The clock has struck 4pm and my TDC week has come to an end. As soon as the challenge ended many of the participants scurried to the comfort of their homes. Surely by now all of us have showered, eaten a hot meal and changed into clean clothes. As it rains and the temperature drops, we immerse ourselves back into the reality from which we came from. Having finally sat down to relax, with no worries or responsibilities, I took time to reflect on this past week.

Day 4 was a peculiar day, one in which there was much debate and discussion, a full schedule of classes to attend, a never ending amount of homework and little time to relax. Although it was a hectic day, it was not a strenuous one. It seems as though the group is becoming more and more intimate as the hours pass. Getting to know one another, it is evident that there are good people here. We all help each other out, give each other good company and most importantly challenge one another…

Another day and another struggle. Day 3 is felt as the day when your body tells you its tired... very tired. After a long day of meetings, studying and writing, what normally is a manageable schedule and normal hours, feels more like an exhaustive and even abusive gauntlet. The natural symptoms of exhaustion have certainly kicked in today more than the previous ones. But as the challenge goes on so must I and my physical and mental toughness are put to further test.

As the second day comes to an end, I reflect back on the experience of the last 24 hours. Last night, being the first we would spend outside, was spent preparing for an expected storm the likes of which earned a severe thunderstorm and tornado warning. As I prepared for bed, I placed all my valuable belongings in a plastic bag, wore a rain jacket to bed and covered the gap under which I slept with a trash bag.
