Well, it's over. I can say this is an experience I won't soon forget. I learned a lot this week and feel I am much better for it.
While I am very happy to shower again and start to return to my normal life, I am a little sad to say it's over. Today's discussions were really good. I had a great time hearing about people's experiences as well as adding my own perspective to the conversation. We also were able to discuss the article about us in the Bullet. I thought at least half of what the writer said was accutate. She mentioned that we are just playing poverty and why don't we donate our money instead? Yes, it is playing poverty, but it is effective in the educational aspect of it as well as raising funds. Well it's the middle of the week and the hunger is starting to get to me. Yesterday I had 3 pineapple slices for breakfast and Ramen for lunch around noon, skipped dinner so I could have breakfast today. Today I had peanuts for breakfast and Ramen for lunch. Then I went to Dollar General and got a loaf of bread and pineapples slices to last me the rest of the week. A friend of mine has peanut butter, so we'll share the bread, and hopefully it won't go bad too quickly. I did save $1.56 just…

So, last night was disastrous because of the weather. It rained on and off all night but then around 4:30 am it became a torrential downpour and we decided to move into Trinkle. Luckily I had turned a trashbag into a poncho, so I didn't get too wet, also I was in one of the dryest parts of the shelter.
