HOPE Trips provide an opportunity to learn about Christ-centered
microfinance through a firsthand experience of facing poverty,
engaging clients, and seeing their businesses so that participants
may return home significantly changed and committed to becoming
involved in expanding HOPE’s mission.
Unitus Microfinance Trips (formerly Partner Expeditions) are short
trips to visit Unitus’s partners and learn about microfinance
firsthand. Designed for high-impact donors and others considering a
significant donation to our organization, Unitus Microfinance Trips
provide an incredible opportunity to see the power of microfinance
in person.
Social Impact Adventure's passion is to host exhilarating and
enticing adventures where you can delve into the social impact of
microfinance in developing nations and have opportunities to meet
with clients and professionals first hand.
In coordination with Sam Daley-Harris, director of The Microcredit
Summit Campaign, we are working to bring a delegation of passionate
students to the 2010 Africa/Middle East Regional Microcredit Summit
from April 5 - April 11, 2010.
The MFI Connect experience includes field visits, panel sessions,
workshops, brushing shoulders with inspiring microfinance
professionals, and the chance for MFI Connect members to meet and
work together as students supporting microfinance. MFI Connect is
also working with Sam Daley-Harris to create a special student
session with Muhammad Yunus and Ingrid Monroe. The more students
can come, the more likely we'll be able to hold this session!

Create Your Own Trip...
Is there a country you are planning on visiting but you don't
know of any microfinance vision trips going there? Create your own!
Microfinance Institutions (MFI's) have few opportunities to share
what they are doing with the outside world and are often excited to
show off their work to interested visitors.
You can find a list of MFI's in your country on Microfinance
Gateway and contact them via e-mail or phone. Allow plenty of time
to plan your visits since many MFI's have limited internet access
and have staff members that travel frequently. And remember, your
there to listen, learn and encourage. Please be respectful of their
time and culture.
