About the Organization
Yehu Microfinance Trust seeks to improve the lives of Kenya's poorest of the poor by offering responsive financial services to rural entrepreneurs. Located at the Coastal region of Kenya (East Africa), Yehu targets rural villages where no other financial services are available. Its mission is to combat poverty by empowering poor rural entrepreneurs in Kenya to help lift themselves out of poverty through enhanced accessibility to sustainable financial services.

Job Description
As part of its commitment to mainstreaming these socio-economically marginalized villages, Yehu are seeking for interns with previous professional experience to collaborate with current employees to improve and innovate processes to help them reach our strategic goals and rapid growth objectives. This internship will be available from March 1, 2010. The anticipated duration is approximately 4 - 6 months. Housing will be provided, however it will be necessary for interns to pay for monthly living expenses, as well as any travel expenses to Kenya.

Duties and Responsibilities
* To develop a comprehensive training program ready for piloting and/or implementation (depending on the length of the internship), including a training needs assessment tool, charts, training documents, timelines, instructions, etc.;
* Assist the operations department in developing a robust and effective training program that ensures a committed, competent and compliant workforce.

Qualifications
* Provide support to Director of member affairs and global communications to assist with internal and external communications, and support marketing and promotional activities; * Liaise with SEEP staff to arrange additional support;
* Conduct research for proposals based on current outreach strategy;
* Coordinate and manage events;
* Work with major international development organizations;
* Provide support for social media strategies;
* Assist in preparing for travel.
