non-profit organization with a mission to cultivate and promote
successful microenterprises, thus creating economic prosperity and
employment in distressed communities throughout the Philadelphia
region. PDP provides a comprehensive array of micro loan products
and business development services to 400 individuals annually to
help them establish, stabilize or expand their small
businesses.
Job Description
The Philadelphia Development Partnership (PDP) is a private
non-profit organization with a mission to cultivate and promote
successful microenterprises, thus creating economic prosperity and
employment in distressed communities throughout the Philadelphia
region. PDP provides a comprehensive array of micro loan products
and business development services to 400 individuals annually to
help them establish, stabilize or expand their small
businesses.
The Project Associate is an important member of the PDP team who
facilitates the organization’s signature program, the Peer Group
Microenterprise Program. This position coordinates and assists with
managing peer groups, markets and promotes the program and
maintains all data and reporting requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities
Marketing/Outreach
•Conducting marketing/outreach strategies for programs and
services, including canvassing target markets; distributing
promotional materials; developing and maintaining relationships
with key organizations that provide access to our target
population; maintaining electronic social media (i.e. Facebook,
Twitter, etc.)
• Establishing strategic partnerships with
organizations/businesses, etc.
• Organizing and conducting orientation sessions for programs and
services
• Conducting on-going marketing activities targeted to PDP’s
existing customers, customer database and target market
• Developing and implementing innovative marketing initiatives in
order to reach target client demographics
• Identifying opportunities and representing the organization at
networking events, business fairs, and other events
Peer Group Development
• Assist peer group facilitators with coordinating and managing
groups and their activities including:
o Executing enrollment into Peer Program
o Coordinating/scheduling/hosting workshops, meetings, networking
events, etc.
o Securing workshop/meeting/networking event facilities and
resources (i.e. presentation equipment, materials,
instructors/guest speakers, etc.)
o Coordinating and scheduling workshops/classes
o Corresponding with business development consultants, instructors,
guests, etc.
o Assisting Director with creating Peer Group services and
programs
• Maintaining and executing all reporting requirements for PDP’s
Peer Group Microenterprise Program (including data input, writing
program reports, files, etc.)
• Maintaining and executing all client data input required for
program reports and statistics
• Other duties as assigned by the Director of Entrepreneurial
Development
Qualifications
The position requires a flexible, energetic and highly organized
individual with excellent communications skills who has an outgoing
personality and is able to be results-oriented. Must have
demonstrated experience working with diverse and underserved
populations. Must be comfortable with a fast-paced,
deadline-oriented environment and have the ability to multi-task.
Must be willing to work evenings and weekends.
