About

Our mission is to transform socially conscious online shoppers into philanthropists by blending private commerce with global causes through our innovative platform for sustainable giving.

iShop4Microfinance.org is an innovative online platform for socially conscious shoppers to make an impact on microfinance organizations for free. When you shop at our partner stores (Amazon, iTunes, Gap, Walmart, & more) through iShop4 store links, 4% of whatever you spend goes directly towards Kiva, Grameen Foundation and the Acumen Fund. Shopping through us will never cost you more than it normally would. It is incredible how quickly 4% of your online spending can add up to make a difference across the globe.

We are changing the way the world shops online.

Thanks Jeff,

I just received two emails that the credit card I was using didn't allow the purchases. It isn't because of ishop, I think my card is frozen after being abroad and not using it. I will reorder from the US on Thursday and go through ishop again.

Such a great concept guys, I'd love to hear how you put it into action working with such large companies.

Ben,

Your purchase will clearly show up in the account we have with Amazon (it usually takes a week or so) and will be donated to Kiva, Grameen Foundation, and the Acumen Fund. Unfortunately, we do not have a way to directly acknowledged the purchase when you are on iShop4Microfinance.org. There is a delay in when you make the purchase and we get paid for it. We're trying to figure out a way to acknowledge each purchase to the shopper, but it will take awhile to get it implemented- we're not tech savvy enough yet!

I realize this is annoying, so we created a blog to show the most recent donations we have made, so by the end of the month, 4% of what you spent on Yunus' book will be donated.

I am more than happy to send you an email once we have received money from Amazon.

Thank you so much for using our site and I really appreciate your feedback!

Best,
Jeff

I just used ishop4microfinance for the first time. How does the donation become regocnized? I went to Amazon through the links on the ishop website (and bought Yunus' new book), but there isn't any way for me to know that ishop4microfinance was acknowledged.

Great work to the founders, this is an excellent idea and the website looks great.
