Harnessing Student Potential In Microfinance

I'm a student going to the Summit and I was wondering what others were doing as far as hotel rooms. I see there are some hotels with blocks of rooms reserved, if we squeezed 4-5 people in a room it would make it really affordable. Any other students out there looking to book a place to stay for the conference?

Hi Sasha,

Thank you for raising this question and for thinking about sharing space.

MFI Connect recommends that student delegates either stay in one of the hotels recommended by The Microcredit Summit Campaign. Those can be found at http://regionalmicrocreditsummit2010.org under "Traveling to Nairobi." Price range from $50 - $300/night.

OR we recommend that you join us at the Wildebeest Camp, which you can check out at www.wildebeestcamp.com. This is where our team is staying, and we would LOVE for all of the delegates to join us there. The camp offers a range or very affordable accommodation, including deluxe safari tents, bunk rooms, and garden space to pitch your own tent. Price range from $9 - $30/night. We are also working to provide transport for all student delegates to the conference center from Wildebeest. (It's about a nine minute drive.)

Please check out these options, and feel free to ask other questions. If other attendees respond to this discussion, perhaps you can share rooms at one of these places!

Can't wait to see you in Kenya!!!!

Hey Haley,

Thanks for the info! What accommodations at Wildebeest is your team staying in? Interested in splitting one of the deluxe tents, making the price only $25 per person? Also, please let me know if you get a shuttle from there to the conference, that would definitely make it a perfect place to stay!

Best,
Sasha
