Join Bankers without Borders  for this upcoming webinar to learn about the value chain approach, an innovative strategy in international development, that connects entrepreneurs with market opportunities. We'll discuss how incentives are established between buyers, traders, input suppliers, and exporters in a value chain. We'll also explore how linkages are established between different players in a value chain, and learn more about some of the leading development firms -- and the roles they play -- in creating and maintaining a value chain. About the Presenter

Katie Turner is a Senior Consultant/Project Manager with MEDA’s Agriculture Market Linkages Department, developing and managing projects with the goal of integrating micro and small entrepreneurs into profitable and sustainable value chains. Katie designed and is currently overseeing an innovative $2.5 million project funded by CIDA and IADB, which supports agriculture technology suppliers in Peru and Nicaragua.  She also consults on value chain analysis and program design for a variety of clients including Aga Khan, Codespa, World Vision, and Heifer International. Katie has done extensive work on the roles gender, technology adoption, and microfinance play in rural development.  Katie holds a BA in Economics from Wilfrid Laurier University and a Graduate Degree in International Development. She is fluent in English and Spanish.
